EPISODE 1: Survive and Thrive the End of the Year in Middle School

The end of the school year…unless you are a teacher, you just can’t fully understand how completely overwhelming it is.  As a newer teacher, I remember struggling to try to close out the year in a positive way, but with all there was to do on the administrative side, like report cards, packing the room and such, I honestly didn’t know where to begin.

We will discuss:

  • WHY are we feeling so overwhelmed?  It’s not that straightforward.
  • A simple plan to tackle your never-ending to-do list
  • Ways to provide students with meaningful end-of-the-year activities.

I’m not promising it will be easy, but if you start with a better understanding of what the end of the year entails for you and your students emotionally and mentally, then you might have the motivation to serve them, and yourself, in a way that enables you to not just survive, but thrive, during the end of the year.
